_____ Math: worksheet p. PW9, #15-18. Show your work on the back side of your worksheet.
_____ Science: study outline worksheet.

Keep reading your chapter book for the October 15th book report. Don't forget to save a cereal box which is needed for the book report. Late book reports will not be accepted.

_____ Science: study lesson 1 outline worksheet (always be prepared for a pop quiz)

_____ Reading: finish writing definitions for vocabulary words in spiral notebook for Sarah, Plain and Tall if you did not finish the in-class assignment (only applies to those students who did not finish)
_____ Spelling: workbook p. 14
_____ Spelling: write only the 5 challenge words 5X each on notebook paper (put heading on paper first)
_____ Grammar p. 9
_____ Math: worksheet p. PW9, #1-4 on notebook paper (do each problem like we did in class -- solve addition or subtraction sentence first, then rewrite the sentence and round both numbers at each place value and solve using the rounded numbers. Use the example problem in your spiral that we did together today to guide you.)
_____ Math: Change the two expanded word form problems to standard form in your spiral notebook.
_____ Science: study worksheet outline for Chapter 1.
Reading: continue reading chapter book for October 15th book report. The instructions and two templates for the October 15th book report were sent home today. Students are to keep them in their portfolios/multi-pocket expandable files so the instructions and template don't get lost. Next week we will be talking more about the parts of the story-book book report.
Math: study multiplication facts. Use place value study sheet to practice identifying place values and naming numbers to the million place value.
Reading: workbook p. 10, #4-6 and p. 12, #4-6. Study vocabulary words for Amelia's Road (in spiral notebook).
Spelling: p. 10. Study for spelling test -- Words with Long a and Long e (Unit 1 Amelia's Road).
Grammar: Study for grammar test (sentences in spiral notebook).
Math: workbook p. RW8, #5-6 only (show work on loose leaf sheet of paper that you wrote your heading on during class -- do it the same way we did in class/use your notes). Three word form problems in math spiral notebook (change/convert to standard form -- do it the same way we did in class/use your notes).
Science: study outline worksheet for Lesson 1 (in your portfolio/expandable file).
Please do not tear out workbook pages unless instructed to do so.
Remember.....no school on Friday, September 25th.....Open house on Thursday evening, September 24th, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (beginning in auditorium at 6:30 p.m.).
Reading: Continue reading your chapter book for the October 15th book report. Think about how Luke's Dad acted at the beginning of the story, The Lost Lake, and how he changed when they went camping and hiking. Think about why he was stressed and overworked at the beginning of the story and why he was relaxed when they went on their adventure. Be prepared to write your answer on Monday. Test Monday (we reviewed in class today).
Math: practice multiplication facts. Students who are using TimeZAttack are loving it!!! Timed tests will begin next week.
Notes: No school on Friday, September 25th. Meet the Teacher/Parent night is Thursday, September 24th, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Information was sent home earlier this week.
Uniform policy is being enforced. Review the policy that was sent home so your child is in proper uniform every day.

Bring a chapter book to class to read at designated times. First book report will be due October 15th.
Notes: Dress code will be enforced starting this week. Not all parents have sent in the forms from the registration packet and the Room 401 information form. Please send ASAP. Remember.....check your child's agenda book every night against his or her homework and then sign the agenda book at the bottom of the page. There may occasionally be notes from me, too, in the agenda book that require your attention.
