Wow! It's hard to believe September is over already! The students are doing a wonderful job with learning our classroom routine as well as working together as a classroom community. We've taken two wonderful walking field trips - to the library and to the fire station. The students were very engaged and interested during both trips. We have a lot happening this month:
Monday, Oct. 12th: Columbus Day - No School
Wednesday, Oct. 14th: School Picture Day; October craft activity @ 11:00 (Mrs. Markvart, Mrs. Antonsen, Mrs. Hassan helping)
Tuesday, Oct. 20th: Field trip to the Palos Children's Farm @ 10:00 (chaperones are Amy Shannon, Fannie Brown, Pam Muhammad, Lisa Delgado, Trish Zeller, & Toya Davis) **Students should dress down for this trip since we will be on a working farm! Jeans are okay.
Friday, Oct. 23rd: No School - Professional Development Day
I know the first day of school can be hectic, especially with all of the supplies children are bringing in! To help alleviate some stress on the first day, you and your child may bring his/her school supplies in during the following times:
Monday, August 31st between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday, September 1st between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 3rd between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
If you can't make it during any of these times, just send the supplies with your child on the first day of school. A letter was sent out to all of Room 102's students about this. See you soon!
