Your child has homework nightly which should be reviewed with the parent. Reading, Spelling and Math are given Monday thru Thursday. The homework sheet is sent home on Monday. The sheet contains all spelling words as well as reading words that your child needs to know for the test on Friday. Please let your child read to you nightly as well as practice add/sub facts.
Please let us continue to work together on stopping the excessive talking in the room during instruction, it still needs work. Please continue to talk to and remind your child about it. Also, please do not allow your child to bring toys to school .It is a distraction.
We are starting our 6th week of school next week. Many children are doing well on the work given. Progress reports will be given to the students next week. Please send a note with your child if you are requesting a comference or e-mail me directly. I will send a response with a time and date. The best time I can meet with you will be Mon,Wed.,Thurs.,and Fri. at 8:35 am. If you send a note please check with your child for a note confirming that date and time.
Welcome Back second graders and their families! By now the parents should have received the packet sent home on Wednesday as well as a supply list and a welcome letter. Please let me know if you need any of these.
We will be using Superkids series for reading this year. However not all of the materials are in yet, so we will use the current reading series until I receive everything.

Please send in an updated emergency form to have on file . Also please send in a lunch form even if you are not participating in the program.
Homework will be given Monday thru Thursday. I will send home a letter on Monday explaining what the children need to do nightly. They will also copy the homework down in a spiral notebook nightly. Please look for the Homework folder as well as the spiral to come home every night. I will do my best to make sure the children put it into their bookbags.
Please purchase addition and subtraction flash cards to review with your child (They are available at the Dollar store.) We are going to start 2 digit adding and subtracting and some children are still having problems with single digit adding and subtracting. Also if possible please let your child read to you every night.
