Grocery Shopping For A Family

All 6th grade students are currently working on an MYP project.  They are working in groups to create a menu and shopping list  based on the financial and dietary restrictions of a profiled family.  This project requires all students to view the world from someone else's perspective, to be create, to be an active listener, and to develop shopping skills. 

Homework for Monday, April 12th

1.  Create the cover of your project (page 1).  The cover must include:

a.  Family Name

b.  A picture of the family with family members name under their picture

c.  Family Profile

2.  Family Biography (page 2)

a.  Write a 1-2 paragraphs about each family member.  Each biography must include at least one food the member likes and one they dislike.  All group members must have the same foods listed in their biographies.

Be creative and have fue!  Pages 1 and 2 must be creative, neat, and TYPED!

6th Grade Mathematics

Students are currently working on Chapter 10- Ratio, Proportion, and Percent.  The mid-Chapter test is scheduled for Friday, March 19th and the Chapter test is scheduled for Friday, March 26th.  If your child is not going to be in school either of these days, it is important that they schedule a time with me to take the test.  As always, I am available before school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 - 8:50 to help students with math.

Math Madness- Grade 6th Homework

Students, be sure to score your homework assignments before you return to school on Tuesday, February 16th.  We started these assignments together on Wednesday as part of our review for the ISAT. If you get a problem incorrect, be sure to go back and check your answer.  On Tuesday, we will go over any problems you had difficulty solving.  I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!

Math Madness

The 6th grade students have been working on many math skills.  The last few weeks  they have been solving equations, working with fractions and decimals,  and studying statistics and graphing.  Students will be assessed on statistics and graphing later this week.   This week the students have also begun working with ratios, proportion, and percent.
