The Math Morning Work will consist of a word problem per day. My goal is to get the students to recognize more "key" words for Math such as difference, all together and equal parts, prompting them to be able to perform the right operation.
They will be given the 1 word problem each morning and each Monday they will have a quiz on the previous week's work. Please be sure they review these problems.
Going forward, I may increase the number of word problems each day as they being to progress.
Starting Monday, March 8, we will be reading Caleb's Story in the place of our reading books. This story is a continuation of Sarah, Plain and Tall, which we read at the beginning of the year and watched the movie on Friday (thanks to Mrs. Stanislawski and Kirsten for finding it and bringing it in so long ago).
My plan is to read a four chapters a week and do activities relating to these chapters. This week will only be 2 chapters as we still have ISAT testing, but if all goes well, we will pick up the pace next week. The schedule for this week is as follows:
Science: Don't forget, the purpose statement and question are due tomorrow. It needs to be on the Purpose and Question page in your Science Fair packet that was handed out on February 24, 2010.
